UHMWPE UD Fabric

UHMWPE has good impact resistance and large specific energy absorption, it is usually applied in the field of safety defense. In safety application, it can be made into protective fabrics, helmets, materials, etc. It is used to make, protection covers, stab resistant clothing, shields, etc.

When used as a protection vest, UHMWPE is mainly used to manufacture UD cloth (a composite material composed of UHMWPE and resin based materials, with no interlacing of fibers in and between layers), which is the key layer of soft vest. Most of the materials now used in protection vest are compounded with other high-performance fibers as the interlayer of . In addition, UHMWPE can also be bonded to ceramic or metal panels as a backing for hard protection panels.
